EPA students visit Shell Pernis

On May 22 a group of 30 students and 3 staff members of Engineering and Policy Analysis have paid a visit to the biggest refinery of Europe, Shell Pernis. Objective was to understand how Shell manages it’s technical risks (Health, Safety and Environmental risks) as well as some of the solutions Shell is working on to reduce CO2 emissions. A visit to the plant itself was part of the visit.

DSTART exhibition in Sweden

DSTART exhibition in Sweden

Cultural institution Norrlandsoperan in Umeå currently exhibits DSTART research on interstellar exploration. The art installation can be viewed in Vita Kuben, a specific room to make contemporary art accessible. Angelo Vermeulen, PhD researcher at TU Delft is one of the creators of the installation. The exhibition can be viewed till 19 April 2019.

TU Delft and AIVD start research programme on national cyber security

As our society becomes increasingly interconnected, the vulnerability to abuse of digital technology grows. To improve our understanding of the nature of the cyber threat to national security and of the technical, organisational and institutional means to address it responsibly, the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) initiate a collaborative research programme.
