UTQ ASSESS
ASSESS focuses on assessment through exams, projects and assignments. It can be a great tool for lecturers to guide student development in their fields when constructed and executed in a valid, reliable, transparent, effective and practical manner.

Competence 4: evaluating teaching
- Conduct an evaluation and collect information (data) purposefully to improve their teaching.

Competence 5: Professionalization
- Formulate their own vision on teaching and student learning.

Module information
Target group
Lecturers participating in the UTQ programme.
Working method during the module
During this module, you will develop or improve an assessment for your course. You may work on an exam, a project or an assignment. The module consists of three parts:
- At course level, you will map out the constructive alignment of all the assessments in your course.
- Next, you will analyse your students’ results obtained during one of the course assessments. The data will enable you to identify points for improvement in the assessment, and in the course as a whole.
- Finally, you will develop or improve one of your course assessments and grading guide, and reflect on your assessment practice.
- Blended learning
- combining face-to-face instruction with online learning
- Flipped classroom
- Preparing for class by learning the theory and completing tasks,
- then applying what you have learned during the live sessions).
- Each session has preparation.
- Number of sessions: 3
- Study load: 30 hours (on average)
- English, unless all participants speak Dutch
Certificate
A certificate for ASSESS is granted, if you have attended all sessions and you have successfully completed the Proof of Competence.
Costs and admission and attendance
The cost for this module is 700 euros.
Because there is a high demand for the modules we want to accommodate as many participants as possible. To do this, we ask you to prioritise the module and be present at all sessions. The first session is essential to follow the module and cannot be missed. If you cannot attend this session, we ask you to unsubscribe and subscribe for another edition. This can be done free of charge until two weeks before the first session.
