Dat stelt TU Delft hoogleraar Dingena Schott in haar intreerede ‘Advancing Transport and Processing: from Model to Impact’, die zij op 15 november houdt. Haar onderzoek richt zich op de interactie tussen werktuigen en hun lading, met een speciale focus op korrelige materialen.

Bert van Wee bij RTV Drenthe over concurrentie op het spoor

Arriva heeft de strijd op het spoor geopend. De vervoerder mag van spoorbeheerder ProRail gebruik gaan maken van het net tussen Groningen en Zwolle, het terrein waar de NS altijd het alleenrecht had. "Dit is een heel interessante situatie", vinden transportspecialisten hoogleraar Bert van Wee van de TU Delft en Erik Verhoef van de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Concurrentie kan volgens hen op het spoor leiden tot meer treinen, maar ook tot chaos.

The aim of the symposium is to bring together researchers that are interested in methods, algorithms, theory, applications, and tools for optimization that are related to decision diagram technology. Example topics include discrete optimization, integer programming, handling uncertainty, constraint programming, routing and scheduling, combinatorial optimization, machine learning, and more. The symposium takes place in the beautiful city of Delft, the Netherlands, on the campus of Delft University of Technology. It is open to anyone who is interested in attending, ranging from researchers that are established in this area to researchers that wish to learn more about this topic. The PhD workshop investigates feminist approaches to generative AI by bringing together PhDs and other scholars from various fields to engage in cross- and inter-disciplinary discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to share their ideas and gain valuable feedback on their projects. These workshops are co-organised by the Feminist Generative AI Lab, Mondai | House of AI and Convergence AI, Data & Digitalisation. Nooit is het middelengebruik van studenten van binnenuit zo in kaart gebracht als bij de COKE SHOW. Tijdens dit onderzoekstheater kunnen bezoekers live en anoniem via hun telefoon reageren op vragen en stellingen. Hun antwoorden laten zien wat er echt speelt, maar worden ook ingezet om advies te geven aan bestuurders, beleidsmakers en andere partijen die invloed kunnen uitoefenen op de leefwereld van jongeren. Elise Perton joined ImPhys as PhD student

Elise Perton's PhD project will be a collaboration between Jacob Hoogenboom and Arjen Jakobi (Bionanoscience). She will use the integrated fluorescence cryo FIB-SEM (built by Daan Boltje) to investigate GBP proteins, and push towards superresolution light microscopy in this integrated fluorescence cryo FIB-SEM.

Tim Holtgrefe joined ImPhys as MSc student

Tim Holtgrefe is a nanobiology master student. He started his master thesis in the Brinks lab with Marco Post as his daily supervisor. His project focusses on the discovery of novel voltage-dependent fluorescent rhodopsins.

Arash Tebyani joined ImPhys as Postdoc

Arash Tebyani joined the Hoogenboom group as postdoc. He will be studying electron-matter interaction, beam damage, charge diffusion and related topics.
