Date: Thursday 28 November 2024
Time: 12:45-13:30 (free lunch from 12:15)
Location: Faculty of EWI, Mekelweg 4 (Chip Hall)
Moderator: Dr Francesco Lombardi
The road to net-zero by 2050 is causing major shifts in the use of different types of energy and energy carriers. Investments in decentralized generation, energy storage, and alternative energy sources have fostered the rise of interconnected Energy Hubs with tightly coupled energy carrier grids. Many of Gradyent’s target clients are operating Energy Hubs with multiple types of energy carriers that interface with different energy markets. Gradyent is already providing a lot of customer value in flexibilization of operation, with a primary focus on heating grids. We are well-positioned to expand our product offering to deliver customer value in Flexibilization and optimization of Energy Hubs. End-to-end coordination of grids within Energy Hubs improves optimal decision making and prevents systems negatively affecting each other. In this talk we will share our product vision: One Digital Twin Platform that provides an accurate real-time copy of the integrated physical system of energy hubs.
Robert Vrancken, CTO & Founder at Gradyent
Robert holds a PhD in Physics (TU/e). After his first startup (around the topic of inkjet printing technology) Robert joined Boston Consulting Group for 6 years. With industry experience in district heating and a strong foundation in Physics Robert saw an opportunity for a Digital Twin platform in energy heating space. In 2019 he started Gradyent with several co-founders. Initially focussing on District heating systems but in the 5 years after starting has expanded the view all energy carriers that are transported in grids.
Ivo Fugers, Director of Digital Twin at Gradyent
Ivo has a background in applied mathematics and close to 10 years of experience in building computational software solutions. Ivo runs a team of 15+ engineers (software, physics & AI engineers) that builds the layer of intelligence in the Gradyent Digital Twin platform.
