Explorative Point Cloud Virtual Reality - Immersive Visual Insight
Virtual Reality (VR) environments can address the limitations of visualizing point clouds on traditional 2D devices, providing users with a more detailed and immersive experience. By leveraging VR, specifically with the Meta Quest 3, we can unlock the true potential of urban point clouds. Integrating the func-tionalities of ’Omnibase’, developed by Geodelta, into the VR environment will allow users to intuitively explore point clouds and imagery by walking through cities, gaining a unique sense of scale and perspective. Additionally, the project will explore the communicative possibilities that VR offers, such as measuring distances and objects, making annotations, and explaining complex scenarios remotely.
