Conversational English for the University

Coversational English for the University is designed for employees/staff who want to improve their conversational fluency. You will need to do about two hours of homework every week to prepare.

The goal of this course is to continue making you more comfortable speaking (and understanding) English. Of course we will look at some common grammatical mistakes (and correct them), but the main focus is on effective speaking (and listening). Each lesson will focus around a specific topic which will be the basis for discussion. 

This will help you become more comfortable, confident and fluent in your use of English.

For a general refresher on using English in the university setting, please take TU1 first.  If you already use English on a regular basis, but want to practice speaking and listening skills, you can register for this course directly.

Our courses receive high evaluations and participants say this is a “fun” way to improve their English!

• Monday mornings 10:45-12:30, 4 November to 16 December 2024
• Tuesday afternoon 13:45-15:30, Tuesday 22 April – 3 June 2025
