2024-07-22 | Virtual Reconstruction of Color Field Paintings, TU Delft

In this groundbreaking project you will explore interactions and design solutions enabling the virtual reconstruction of these iconic artworks. You will delve into the heart of Color Field paintings, examining how to translate the original ( uorescent) appearance into a digital format.

2024-07-22 | Prototype 3D interactions with cylindrical display, TU Delft

We created Cyli, a cylindrical display that allows users to collaboratively explore and interact with 3D content directly - by moving the display around. We have a prototype that enables some basic demos, but there’s so much potential for the system to support engineering, design, education, games, and many other fields. We’re looking for masters students who want to design, program, and evaluate more complex interactions with the system for their graduation and possibly for academic publications in Human-Computer Interaction venues. This means that the graduation project involves a balance of design, programming, and research.

2024-07-22 | Design for paraski; design a new, detachable shell component for the back of the seat that significantly improves the aerodynamics of the current sit-skis, TU Delft

The Dutch sit-skiers are among the world’s elite, reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h during downhill and super-G races. The greatest opposing force they encounter is air resistance. To enhance their chances of winning Paralympic gold, we aim to reduce this air resistance. The current sit-ski shells are not optimally streamlined, particularly the rear section, which causes significant drag.

2024-07-22 | Basic life support procedure on the now softer hospital mattresses, Erasmus MC

Last year the mattresses in the Erasmus MC on the normal ward have been replaced by a softer mattress to prevent decubitus. This could have a consequence for the efficiency of the thoracic compressions: You may compress the mattress instead of the thorax. The quality of compressions is at stake. To prevent this, a stiff backboard will be placed under the back of the patient. This placement takes time. During this positioning of the backboard compressions cannot be given, while we know that this is a very important part of the basic life support. Placing the backboard can be physically (too) heavy for the members of the resuscitation team. Furthermore intravenous lines and tubes may be torn out as we do this placement in a hurry.

2024-07-09 | Social acceptance of waste based bio-composites, AMS institute / TU Delft

We would like you to investigate the social acceptance of bio-composites from PHBV. PHBV is a biobased plastic made by bacteria from municipal waste water. We are developing two bio-composites with corresponding applications, being office furniture for Ahrend from a composite with PHBV and  waste leather, and structures for nature restoration for Waardenburg Ecology from a composite with PHBV and biomass. These materials are also waste based, which might make social acceptance more difficult. We therefore would lik you to investigate this.

2024-07-09 | Improving patient engagement, Reinier de Graaf Hospital & TU Delft

In this project, we aim to fulfill the needs of patients during the “black hole” during the transition from hospital to rehabilitation after discharge. You will take a scientific approach working on a process solution to empower patients and healthcare workers to facilitate an engaging start for rehabilitation.

2024-07-02 | VR/AR in child rehabilitation, TU Delft

Explore the experiences and perspectives of children with physical or neurodevelopmental disabilities to inform design directions of VR/AR assisted child rehabilitation.

2024-07-02 | Research & design for social justice, ConsumentenClaim & the Law Hub & TU Delft

The (University of Amsterdam) Law Hub and ConsumentenClaim are looking for a design student who is interested in researching and redesigning a new process for mass claims procedures.

2024-07-02 | Map and present the most likely future scenarios for bike mobility, Kalkhoff-Bikes (Germany)

Urban areas in Europe are increasingly becoming car-free zones to create space for mobility solutions that require less public space but still meet mobility needs. People want to keep moving around cities, and the growing interest in sustainable mobility solutions presents new opportunities for providers like Kalkhoff-Bikes.
