Redesigning Chemical Innovation

How can we make room for innovation in the chemical sector while making sure that new chemicals and chemical processes are safe and sustainable? The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (I&W) and Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) have just published a collection of eleven essays by experts. Two of them were written by TU Delft researchers.

Safety and security sciences boast a rich and multidisciplinary history of nearly two centuries of intriguing and impactful research and development. Nevertheless, these fields are still on the fringe of formal scientific recognition and public awareness of their influence on daily life remains limited.
