Introduction programmes for Master’s, Exchange and bridging students
February 2025 5, 6 and 7 February The Introduction Programme is designed to help give you a good start to your studies in Delft. The Introduction Programme introduces you to the university, to life in Delft, and to the multicultural student life that awaits you. It is also a good opportunity to get to know your fellow students and make new friends. We will introduce you to the TU Delft study culture and give you a tour on TU Delft Campus. In addition to the IP, we would like to invite you to find out more about the student and study associations active at TU Delft and sign up for the Goin app, which will keep you up to date with all the activities around campus. TU Delft recommends you to participate in the Introduction Programme. However, if circumstances prevent you from being on campus during the 3 days of the on Campus Introduction Programme, we encourage you to utilise the online elements which have been created to help you with the transition to TU Delft. Scroll down for more information about the online elements such as Q&A sessions and a Brightspace course. We are currently working to create the Introduction Programme for spring 2025. More information about the schedule will follow as soon as possible. Introduction Programme Brightspace course Brightspace is TU Delft's collaborative learning environment and is used in almost all courses. The Introduction Programme Brightspace Course not only helps you to get familiar with this system, but also helps you get acquainted with the academic skills and study culture at TU Delft. It also contains information on the grading system, student charter, code of conduct, laptop project and on resources students can use while enrolled at TU Delft; e.g. Student IT Desks, the Library, study spaces, student well-being, academic counsellors, psychologists, workshops and much more. You can also find information on Living in Delft, the rich student life and TU Delft campus in the Brightspace course. Access to Brightspace will be activated one month before the start of your studies. You will be automatically enrolled in to our IP Spring 2025 Brightspace course. Q&A Sessions Before beginning your studies in Spring 2025, you can listen to two Q&A sessions that were recorded for the Introduction Programme in Summer 2024. In these sessions, two student assistants from TU Delft discuss moving to the Netherlands and what to expect during your studies at the university. Even if you don't have specific questions, listening to these sessions will certainly enhance your understanding of studying and living in Delft, the Netherlands. The two topics, available on YouTube, cover: 1. Study culture at TU Delft 2. Moving to the Netherlands How can I participate? If you applied for a Master, Exchange or bridging programme, and are starting your studies in February 2025, half December you will receive an e-mail invitation with instructions on how to register for the On Campus Introduction Programme Spring 2025. (You do not have to register for the online Q&A sessions nor for the Brightspace course.) If you have any questions about the IP Spring 2025, please send an e-mail to contactcentre-ESA@tudelft.nl. Follow the Introduction Programme on Instagram YouTube Faculty Introductions Faculty introductions are scheduled to take place on 7 February, organized separately for each faculty. Most of these introductions are mandatory and aligned with the Central Introduction Programme (IP). Your faculty will reach out to invite you and provide details about the programme. The purpose of the Faculty introduction is to help you get acquainted with your faculty and understand what to expect from your study programme. TU Delft's Introduction Program (IP) is centrally organized to welcome you to the university and give you a glimpse of life in Delft and the vibrant multicultural student community you will be a part of. It is a great opportunity to meet your fellow students and make new friends. You will also be introduced to the study culture at TU Delft and given a tour of the TU Delft Campus. As part of the IP you will be assigned to a group of incoming TU Delft students and a coach, a current student who will share his first-hand experience of Delft student life with you and help you with all your queries. It is strongly advised to attend both programmes (Central Introduction Programme IP and your Faculty Introduction) to get a good start with your studies.
