POW team wins TU Delft Education Team Award 2024
During the Teaching Academy's Education Day, the awards were presented for Educator of the Year and Education Team Award. The team that developed the Personal Development Weeks (Persoonlijke OntwikkelingsWeek or POW) of the Bachelor Renewal won the award for TU Delft Education Team of the Year.
With the introduction of the new Bachelor, more time has been scheduled for personal development and reflection of Bachelor students. Twice a year, there is a schedule-free Personal Development Week for all students. During this week they reflect on the past education period, but also look ahead. Here, they can decide for themselves what they need for their personal development. In the Bachelor renewal, perhaps the most notable change is the introduction of this POW. The POW is possible because of the support, commitment and energy of lots of colleagues, students, alumni and others.
Now the POW team has won this award. Kristel Aalbers, programme coordinator of the POW on winning the award: ‘Seeing and experiencing what the past Personal Development Week has brought to some students and teachers makes me look back on this first edition with great satisfaction. Winning the award feels like getting a lot of appreciation for the idea and the execution. That is super and the icing on the cake.’
Director of Education MaartenJan Hoekstra: “The Education Team Award is the real culmination of a week where everything came together for the POW. I saw students busy with their POW notebooks. And students and teachers enthusiastically participated in all kinds of activities inside and outside the faculty. During the workshop at the Education Day, I noticed how that enthusiasm spread to colleagues from other faculties as well. The POW team of colleagues and students did a great job.”
