Resilient Systems
The ‘Resilience & Systemic Change’ theme focuses on addressing the challenges of an evolving and uncertain future by adopting a systems approach to support decision-making and integral design management. The group examines the interdependencies within complex landscapes, particularly in aging infrastructure systems, to ensure resilience against emerging risks such as climate change. We aim to develop transformative, stakeholder-inclusive solutions that enhance adaptive capacity of our built environment, allowing it to evolve as requirements change. Our work provides critical insights into the interactions between infrastructure, environmental changes, and societal needs, offering guidance for resilient and sustainable development in the face of uncertainty and complexity to create more value for society.
