Pension

Employees of TU Delft are required to contribute to the ABP pension fund, or Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP. ABP is the pension fund covering those employed in the government and education sectors. It is almost 100 years old. It covers, as contributors or beneficiaries, almost 3 million people. It is one of the largest pension funds in the world. It is a private entity, but is strictly regulated and under the supervision of the national bank of the Netherlands. The information below will give you a better idea of what the ABP is, how it works and what you can expect from it. As an employee of TU Delft, you will automatically be enrolled in the ABP pension system, your monthly contributions will be calculated automatically and deducted automatically from your salary and you will automatically have access to the ABP’s online site (which is in both Dutch and English) and the details of your own pension account.

How does it work?

Once you take up employment with TU Delft, our HR department will automatically register you with ABP. You do not need to take any action yourself. Once a year, an information session will be organised on campus by ABP. The date of the session will be published on the Event calendar.

Video English information meeting ABP
