14.00 – 15.00: How do you recognise phishing e-mails? What is the reason you should regularly update your devices? Join the discussion on contemporary cybersecurity aspects and learn the single most effective way to secure your data with cybercrime expert Peter Zinn (Advisor National Hi-Tech Crime Unit)
15.15 – 16.15: Why should you really care about privacy? What is the importance of privacy to society in general? With technology constantly advancing forward, data activist Douwe Schmidt (Bits of Freedom) investigates how the thinking behind ‘privacy’ has changed and argues that it is no longer relevant to favour the phrase “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear”
16.30 – 17.30: The right to privacy: What does it entail exactly? What is the role of the GDPR (AVG) and the Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoongegevens) in protecting such right? What is a ‘data breach’, and why is it important to notify data breaches on time? A representative from the Dutch Data Protection Authority will discuss these matters in-depth.
