Ir. Cor Kasbergen
Master degree in Computer Science at Delft University of Technology.
After his graduation at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science in 1993, he was employed by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of TU Delft. He participated in several projects concerning computer-aided education.
Since June 1997 he has been employed as permanent staff by the Structural Mechanics Section of TU Delft to participate in a project called ACRE on parallelisation of the in-house developed FEM package CAPA-3D.
From 2002 he got involved in different PhD projects in a supporting/supervisory role. In 2004 and 2005 he was lecturing in international courses on applied tensor analysis and constitutive modelling of asphalt. The years that followed kept him busy with developing and implementing several large deformation constitutive models, specifically for asphaltic materials.
In the last decade his research interests, on top of the above-mentioned, tended to go towards contact mechanics, especially tire-pavement interaction, and spectral element techniques for layered pavement systems.
Research interests
Contact mechanics, material modeling, parallel computing.
