Designing for Human Autonomy in the age of autonomous technologies
The drive for autonomous technology spans from workplaces to personal lives, promising breakthroughs in safety, healthcare, and daily conveniences. But this raises a crucial question: What happens to human autonomy? And how to enhance it through design? Historically seen as a tool to enhance our freedom, today’s technology risks undermining human control and agency.
The Delft Design for Values Institute annual theme, “Design for Human Autonomy,” seeks to address these questions with a multidisciplinary approach. They will explore them together with students, researchers (from both inside and outside TU Delft) and practitioners (such as designers and policy makers). You are cordially invited to join their explorations: for example by following a PhD Course.
