Margareth Baidun

I obtained my BSc degree in Molecular Science and Technology at the TU Delft/Leiden University. Fascinated by physical chemistry and computational chemistry, I continued with a MSc degree in Chemistry at Leiden University, in combination with the HRSMC Class of Excellence track at Leiden University/VU/UvA. Even though I studied in Leiden, I chose to do an internship at the TU Delft, in the ISE group. During this internship, I worked with Adarsh Kalikadien on substrate-specific effects in transition-metal-based homogeneous catalysts.

After my master’s, I joined the ISE group as a PhD candidate. I am now focused on using computational chemistry techniques to study the hydrogenation of CO2 on multimetallic heterogeneous catalysts. The goal is to identify deactivation processes that should be avoided to improve catalytic activity.
