[DMO] Martin Scotti: Intersecting codes in the Hamming and in the rank metric

Intersecting codes are a classical object in coding theory. In this talk we investigate a new geometric interpretation, and providing improved bounds on the parameters of these codes. We relate this to the study of the Davenport constant, a classical problem in additive combinatorics on finite abelian groups and zero-sum problems. Finally, we explore the theory of intersecting codes in the rank metric.
