Applicants with a university Bachelor’s degree that indicates a capacity for spatial thinking are eligible for admission, such as: 

  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Archaeology
  • Architecture & building sciences
  • Civil Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Environmental Management
  • Geodesy
  • Hydrology & geology
  • Mathematics
  • Physical or human geography
  • Spatial Planning
  • Surveying

Evaluation criteria for Geomatics 2025-2027

Please note: The applicant is expected to refrain from AI. Any use of AI in the application package should be clearly referenced.

CV and Extended Letter of Motivation give the following profile of the applicant:

  • The application demonstrates a clear explanation for choosing the Geomatics for the Built Environment MSc programme and presents convincing reasons for choosing this programme at TU Delft. Please show in your application that you have a good understanding of what the Geomatics for the Built Environment programme entails. You can find more information here
  • The application shows an open academic attitude of the candidate and potential for growth. The benefit of studying at TU Delft is evident.
  • The applicant demonstrates interest and a sensibility towards geographical issues and has a keen interest in advanced techniques in data collection and analysis, spatial information modelling, and the visualisation of data to solve real-world problems in an innovative way. 
  • The application shows that previous education and experience link with the Geomatics for the Built Environment MSc, i.e. candidates should have a good understanding of calculus and linear algebra. 
  • The application demonstrates evidence of skills and basic competences in computation and programming. In particular, analytical skills, use of tools and techniques and ways of presenting are evident.
  • The application demonstrates that the knowledge, strengths, and experience shown in CV, scores and references are consistent with the competences identified in the motivation letter.

All criteria must be met. Failing on one of them can lead to a rejection.
