B.A. van Leengoed (Berend)

Biography

I am Berend, and I grew up in the Netherlands. I followed the aerospace engineering bachelor at our faculty in Delft. After which I decided I wanted to gain some exciting real life engineering experience, which I found in a full time year as chief structures of the Stratos dreamteam. During this year I worked a lot with structures and composites in particular. Because of that I decided to follow the Aerospace Structures and Materials MSc track.

Master Thesis Project

My master thesis will be focused on developing additive manufacturing methods with liquid crystal polymers for the manufacturing of hydrogen pressure vessels. With the use of this high strength material and the shaping freedom that additive manufacturing brings, new and innovative structural concepts and geometries can be used in these pressure vessels.
