‘7’ (Seven)

‘7' creates a fusion between the art and chemistry of crystals. The 7 panels are designed according to the 7 standard crystal structures from which all crystals originate. An interaction between man and material is set in motion when light is shone through the glass of these crystal structures. This creates a projection of the structure onto the wall behind it. When the panels are turned, the projections intertwine and the installation comes to life. This interaction is enhanced by the use of the material mycelium, which grows just like man and crystals.
