Transferring to a Masters programme

After completing your Bachelor’s degree programme, you can enrol directly in one of the Master’s degree programmes in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Embedded Systems. The Master’s degree programme in Electrical Engineering offers a number of specialised tracks: Wireles Communication and Sensing, Electrical Sustainable Energy, Microelectronics and Signals and Systems. These are two-year Master’s degree programmes and are taught in English.

Electrical Power Engineering

You will get an in-depth understanding of the challenges that electrical power engineers must overcome. The programme covers a wide range of issues, including renewable energy, smart grids, environmentally friendly material technologies, the decentralisation of power generation, power-systems operation, power electronics and electrical machines.

Signals and Systems

You will learn to develop theories and algorithms in the broad field of signal processing operations and system design. You can specialise in multimedia signal processing, signal processing for telecommunications, biomedical signal processing, signal processing for remote sensing and signal processing for control systems.

Wireles Communication and Sensing

You will learn to design the telecommunications, radar and remote-sensing systems of the future. This also includes the associated knowledge of electromagnetic waves, such as microwaves and terahertz signals, signal processing technology, networks, observation techniques and the design of complex systems.

Embedded Systems

You will get accustomed to a systematic approach to design the software and hardware embedded ‘under the bonnet’ of a device or machine, such as a car, a pacemaker or a robot. Subjects include: chip design, computer architecture, communications networks, real-time operating systems and software engineering.

Microelectronics

You will gain specialised knowledge and experience required to design, produce and test the chips of the future, as well as microelectronic components, circuits and systems.

Sustainable Energy Technology

Engineers in Sustainable Energy Technology have a broad knowledge of the field and can act as the system integrators of the energy transition. They can bring different energy subsystems together into one system. Their engineering skills include renewable energy generation, distribution systems and storage.

Computer Engineering

You will learn to design, develop and use the software and hardware of the future. Subjects include software design, hardware design and the integration of software and hardware.

European Wind Energy Master

The master track Electric Power Systems is part of the European Wind Energy Master. The Electric Power Systems track allows the master students to get the technical knowledge about components and systems required for renewable energy integration within the power system.
