On this page, we provide more information on this service. Before creating educational videos yourself, make sure to check if a suitable video already exists as open educational material, and re-use it if allowed. For more information on the value of using educational videos in your course, please visit the didactical advice page on creating an educational video. That page offers information on different options to record your educational video, some general tips for educational videos, and tips on how to integrate the video in your course. Process The Video Fast Lane team consists of several teaching assistant animators, guided by blended learning advisers. To get a video created by our team, please follow the steps below. Send a request to create an educational animation to teaching-support@tudelft.nl, or via your faculty blended learning adviser. We will contact you to discuss the feasibility of your envisioned video, and the availability of the team. To make use of this service, you are required to provide a script for the animation. We strive for an animation of maximum 6 minutes, which translates to a script of about 900 words. Provide the video fast lane team with a script for your animation. You might think about the tone of voice that fits your script best, which will also be discussed in the meeting in step 3. Maybe you already have some ideas regarding the animation, e.g. on the fidelity level of the animation. Alternatively, we can work towards a shared vision via a collaborative brainstorm session. You meet with the team. In this meeting, we discuss the workflow, and discuss an initial storyboard for your animation. At this step, you can make some final modifications to the script. The team will narrate the script. At this point, adjusting the script is not recommended, as the animation is based on timing of the script. The animators start working based on the storyboard and narrated script. Some questions might pop up during this process, and some further clarifications might be requested. Depending on the length and complexity of your animation, we strive to finish the animation in 3 to 4 weeks. The team will present the animation to you (this can be a meeting in person, online, or just via email). If there are still things to be polished or embellished, this is the moment to discuss it. If there is capacity on the side of the animator(s), we might be able to accommodate more elaborate requests. Evaluate both the collaboration process and the developed animation video. Since we strive to continuously improve our services, we would like to wrap up the project with a final evaluation.
