Sharing data
-
Keep your private email and TU Delft email strictly separate. Only use TU Delft e-mail for work and study related matters, and not for private use. Also, make sure to not use private email for work or study related matters.
Pay close attention to what information you share with others via e-mail. Confidential and sensitive information, such as medical data, should not be sent through e-mail.
Do you receive TU Delft email on a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet? Set at least one PIN code for access to the device. If you lose your device with the TU Delft e-mail, report this to abuse@tudelft.nl.
Remotely block your data and your phone: go to webmail.tudelft.nl, Options General Mobile Devices; choose the device that is lost or stolen; choose to remotely delete the data and block the phone.
-
Only use the services offered by TU Delft for storing and sharing data. For example, you can use webdata.tudelft.nl, Webdrive and/or SURFdrive to store or share data. Files should preferably be sent via SURFfilesender.
Don't forget to use encryption when sending sensitive data. The key (password) should then be sent to the recipient by SMS or other message service. If you do send sensitive data by e-mail, do so by wrapping the file in a .ZIP file and providing it with a password.
Do not put TU Delft data on your private computer, an external disk, USB stick or other physical carrier.

At TU Delft, online collaboration is preferably done via Microsoft Teams (employees) or Brightspace (students). Be aware when using Teams: When using the (mobile) apps and web services, avoid the processing of special personal data and business-sensitive information. For an overview of apps and webservices and the data they share, check the document on the intranet: Teams and privacy. You can find more information about the storage/sharing of special personal data and business-sensitive information here.
