Why and How to do Open Source Hardware
We try to address the two main questions: Why and How to do Open Source Hardware.
Why is open hardware important?
It speeds up the learning process because it allows to use and study the source code.
It empowers users that can contribute, innovate and take the idea further.
It also teaches people how to collaborate together and build communities.
It delivers very concrete products and results to society, this can eventually have a profound impact on people's lives.
How to do it?
Work on real projects, learn from experienced peers, practice it and get better at it.
Learn the available tools which involves organizational, source control, software, fabrication methods, etc.
Develop skills and use them to make substantial contributions.
Learn best practices for community building which involves leadership, good communication, team building activities and more.
