Please be aware that these thesis topics and internship topics are available for TU Delft students (and possibly EU students with a good fit to the group). We cannot host non-EU students for an internship, due to the already large number of own students from TU Delft and due to the work for arranging visa for non-EU interns.
MSc thesis projects
These are the possible MSc thesis projects in the academic year 2024-25.
Project 3: Electrochemical CO2 capture
Type project: Experimental (minor computational part)
Availability: Available (from September ’24)
Description: In this MSc thesis project, you will explore the performance of two units central to the electrochemical CO2 capture. First, you will investigate the efficiency of CO2 capture from air using hollow fibers. Second, using the earlier generated CO2-saturated capture solution, you will investigate the efficiency of a bipolar membrane electrodialysis unit in releasing CO2 as the main product. The project should additionally explore the interplay between these two units. Analysing experimental results and using theoretical estimations you should find the optimal conditions that minimize the overall energy consumption of both units simultaneously.
