MSc thesis of Peeyush Paul

The use of Wide Band-gap (WBG) switches in Integrated Modular Motor Drives (IMMDs) reduces drive space while increasing efficiency and thermal performance. The commonly used VSI design with wide bandgap switches is unable to cope with increasing switching frequency to lower the size of IMMD, resulting in poor efficiency and thermal performance. In this thesis, a benchmark analysis based on efficiency and thermal performance is conducted to evaluate which topology performs better.
