Aleksander Czechowski

I received my PhD degree in computational mathematics in 2016 at Jagiellonian University in Krakow for my research on computer assisted proofs for ordinary and partial differential equations. Afterwards, I was working in R&D sector of the traffic management industry on aspects of optimal control of traffic lights on urban intersections, and on communication and coordination with automated vehicles. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Interactive Intelligence group, in the team of prof. Frans Oliehoek under the INFLUENCE project in the field of multi-agent systems.

In my research I focus on multi-agent planning and multi-agent reinforcement learning in fully and partially observable environments. I study problems coming from robotics, traffic management and autonomous warehouse optimization, with the overarching goal of achieving coordination in a decentralized manner. I particularly enjoy applying ideas from dynamical systems and evolutionary game theory.
