Admission Requirements
What is required to be considered for admission to the MSc programme?

Individuals holding one of the following foreign bachelor degrees will be assessed on an individual basis by the admission committee:
- A good university's socio-technical BSc degree, with good grades on the key courses;
- A good university’s BSc degree in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics with good grades on the key courses and 30 EC in at least two of the subjects of economics, law and policy.

A Bachelor's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 75% of the scale maximum, unless specific requirements are defined for the country in which you obtained your bachelor's degree. Find a full list of countries at the second point on this page.
Please note: if you have not graduated yet your CGPA must meet the requirements at the time of application.

Proof of English language proficiency.
- A TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with an overall score of minimum 100 and a minimum subscore of 22 for all parts. Please note that we only accept the TOEFL internet-based test.
- An IELTS (academic version) overall score of minimum 7,0 and a minimum subscore of 6,5 for all parts;
- A Cambridge Assessment English:. Only the following certificates are accepted:
- C1 Advanced (CAE) - Grade C (scale 185 and above).
- C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Proficiency in English) with an overall score of 185
Certificates older than two years will not be accepted.
Please note:
Only nationals from the USA, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada are exempt from the proof of English language proficiency requirement. Applicants who obtained a bachelor’s degree in one of the mentioned countries, are also exempt from the proof of English language proficiency requirement.As the whole process of collecting information, registering for the tests and receiving the test results may take several months, we advise you to register for the IELTS, TOEFL or one of the Cambridge tests several months before starting your application.
- Non-EU/EFTA nationals must upload all required application documents before 1 April, including their proof of English language proficiency.
- For EU/EFTA nationals, our advice is to upload the proof of English language proficiency before 1 April in order to make sure that your enrolment and access to services can be arranged on time. In case you cannot provide the proof of English language proficiency before 1 April, you may upload it until 1 July, provided that all other required application documents are uploaded before the application deadline of 1 April.

A clear and relevant motivation letter written by the applicant (document name: LastnameInitals-essay.pdf), covering the following subjects:
- Your motivation for taking the CoSEM MSc programme and what you expect from the study. (200 words max)
- Which Track interests you most, and why? (100 words max)
- The description of two different hypothetical CoSEM thesis projects: what kind of project would you prefer if you were free to choose? Briefly explain what you would want to explore in these projects. (200 words max)
- A list of courses you have passed (30 EC minimum) in at least two of the three subjects: economics, law and policy. If a course name does not clearly reflect its contents, please include the learning objectives or a link to the course description.

An extensive résumé (curriculum vitae) written in English.

Required document: A photocopy of the page (or pages) of your passport that give your name, date of birth, place of birth and the passport expiration date.
Application and enrolment
Here you can find all the required information for applying to TU Delft. To start an MSc application, fill in and submit the online application at Studielink. After submitting your online application, you will receive an e-mail with the link to the upload portal of TU Delft. This portal allows you to upload the required documents.
Please note that you may apply for one MSc programme only and that incomplete applications and applications submitted by mail or e-mail will not be processed.
For all MSc programmes a rolling admissions policy applies. This means that complete applications will be reviewed upon receipt. If you meet our admissions requirements, you will be considered for the programme. You will be notified of the outcome of your application within twelve weeks following the receipt of your completed application. Please note that we aim for a variety of nationalities in our programmes in order to maintain an international class room.

All applicants are required to pay a € 100 euro application fee. You will be informed about the payment method in your online application.
