What is Share & Care?

A pilot project in which opportunities for connection and healing are created for staff and students who feel affected by developments in the field of social safety at TU Delft since March 2024. The pilot will be carried out between October 2024 and January 2025. Two types of interventions are offered:

Healing dialogue sessions in which people with similar experiences can share their story so that they feel heard and acknowledged;

These conversations are aimed at students and staff who want to share their stories with others with similar experiences. They are designed to share experiences and emotions, where they can talk freely about their fears, sorrows, frustrations and other emotions without having to explain too much. Under the guidance of experienced facilitators and based on different working methods, opportunities to tell your story are provided in a safe setting so that they feel heard and recognised, contributing to the emotional well-being of the participants.

Learning dialogue sessions

in which different perspectives and experiences can be shared and explored in order to connect and learn from each other.

Under the guidance of experienced moderators and based on clear rules of discussion, learning dialogues are held in a safe setting, with the underlying question: how do we take good care of our community and how do we deal with differences? These dialogues provide space to learn, understand and reflect by listening to each other's perspectives and experiences.

The sessions interventions will also – with all safeguards for the privacy of those involved – result in reports with points to learn from  and/or recommendations for the organisation.

Why Share & Care?

The Education Inspectorate's report on social safety and the resulting reactions and interactions have triggered a lot of concerns, old and new pain. Share & Care contributes to people's need to be able to 'tell your story and be heard' and to be recognised. It is important to make more room for this than has been done so far.

Share & Care is designed in a co-creation

Designing Share & care in co-creation fits within the principles of the Plan of Change: "participatory" and "nothing about us without us". With a diverse group of people who themselves have a need for the intervention, know people's stories well or can think creatively, we further investigated what the need is and which interventions are appropriate. In doing so, the sessions are relevant and user-friendly, for the phase of processing the findings of the report and their experiences they are in.
