July 22th, 2016, One of the most pretigeous journal for civil engineering in the Netherlands The Journal of Civilie Technique reported the whole story of our cement free geopolymer concrete canoe! For more information, click here.

July 7th, 2016: Jannek selected as top three innovators for the material and design of the most sustainable tiles using our GEOPOLYMERS

2016, July 7th: Janneke van Oorschot, bachelor student at the Delft University of Technology was selected as one of the top three innovators for the material and design of the most sustainable tiles made by our GEOPOLYMERS! The tiles will be used for the streets' paving in Rotterdam! Congratulations, Janneke!

June 14, 2016: Marija presented geopolymer concrete to First Vice-President of the European Commission during his visiting in the TU Delft Green Village

Tuesday June 14, 2016, Delft University of Technology welcomed Mr. Frans Timmermans, First Vice-President of the European Commission and responsible for sustainable development and ‘better regulation’. Mr. Timmermans was interested to learn about the latest ground-breaking innovations that are being developed, built and tested in the field of climate change and circular economy at TU Delft campus. One of our PhD researchers Marija Nedeljković was invited to present the application of geopolymer concrete to Mr. Timmermans on the innovative concepts of sustainable development of this construction material. Click here, also here for the whole story.

June 2, 2016: Exhibition preview pitches best TU Delft research to businesses

One of our current running reserach project "Long-term performance of geopolymer concrete systems for production of environment friendly building materials – GeoCon" has been selected from a total of 128 projects as one of the 20 highlight projects on TU Delft Research Exhibition held on June 2, 2016. Core member within this projects (Marija Nedeljkovic, Kamel Arbi, Yibing Zuo with Guang Ye) are sharing knowlege and experties to more than 500 hundred people from industry for a more sustainable future. A story is reported here.

May 28, 2016: A cement free canoe, made of fiber reinforced geopolymer concrete

The canoe is made of geopolymer concrete, also known as cement free concrete. This relatively new material with concrete-like properties uses only industrial by-products as binder instead of the traditional Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC). This makes geopolymer concrete a sustainable alternative to traditional concrete. The complete story of preparation and testing of the geopolymer canoe can be found here. Innovative as it is, the Jounal "Innovatieve materialen" issue IM1603 also reported this story from pp 19-21, a electric version of this issue can be view here. The story is also covered by the Journal of Civilie Technique as Primeur voor geopolymeren: Betonkano zonder cement.
