Academy for Public Professionals
In a rapidly changing and complex world where technology is becoming increasingly important, policymakers and administrators must stay ahead. The TU Delft Academy for Public Professionals offers exactly what you need to take on this challenge: high-quality courses and training on technology, specifically developed for professionals in the public sector. The expertise is provided by our leading TU Delft scientists at national and international level.
In The Hague, we focus on the key themes of Climate & Energy, Digitalisation and Safety & Security. We address technologies that power the energy transition, potentially reduce global warming, how to design and use algorithms safely and responsibly, also to improve work productivity, and how we can stay secure in our digital society.
Our social responsibility
TU Delft sees providing access to knowledge on engineering and technology for the public sector as its social responsibility and task. Through the Academy, we fulfil this impact ambition to contribute to a better and more sustainable society. Learn more about the impact initiatives of Campus The Hague.
What sets us apart: three principles
1. Leading expertise in technology
TU Delft is globally renowned for its leading research and education in engineering, design and science, with technological innovation at its core. You will have access to the latest knowledge and insights that can be directly applied to your work. You will learn from experts involved in groundbreaking research who also understand the complexities of today's public sector. Our scientists are not only skilled in their own fields but also have years of experience teaching various groups.
2. Focus on policy, governance and implementation issues
At the TU Delft Academy for Public Professionals, we ensure that our courses align seamlessly with current policy, implementation and governance challenges. This is combined with the transfer of fundamental knowledge about technology and engineering for policy, governance and implementation. Therefore, our activities focus on relevant themes such as the energy transition, digital transformation and security issues. This allows you to respond to the latest developments immediately and apply your knowledge and skills effectively to make an impact in your work.
3. Flexibility and tailor-made approach
We understand that your time is limited and that the world is evolving quickly. That’s why we offer flexible learning options, ranging from intensive short courses to multi-day training programs, designed to fit your busy schedule. Additionally, we offer the development of tailored programs that specifically address the challenges and issues in your policy and implementation tasks. TU Delft has a diverse range of expertise, so don’t hesitate to bring up topics that haven’t been mentioned yet.
Our activities primarily take place at our locations in The Hague, but they can also be offered elsewhere or in hybrid formats if desired.
Transdisciplinary learning
By facilitating this interaction between policy, governance and implementation, science & engineering learns about the demands of the public sector, which it then can take into account in regular research and education. This is the essence of transdisciplinary science. Naturally, this takes place in The Hague, the (inter)national center of public organisations.
