Additional information about smoking policy
By law, a large part of TU Delft is smoke-free since 1 August 2020. From this date, the premises of all educational institutions must be smoke-free; this means that a smoking ban must be introduced, indicated and enforced on these premises. This is in line with the objective of the Gezondheidsfondsen voor Rookvrij (Smoke-free Netherlands) to enable future generations to grow up in a smoke-free environment.
This means that a smoking ban is effective on large parts of the campus. This pertains to those parts of the campus where teaching takes place. Consult the map below to see where smoking will be allowed and where not. The ban is valid 24/7 and will also apply to e-cigarettes. In the event of a breach, the relevant TU Delft authorities will be authorised to impose sanctions for violations of the smoking ban.
