Jacob Hoogenboom appointed as professor
TU Delft's Executive Board has appointed Jacob Hoogenboom as Professor of Electron and Light Microscopy in the Department of Imaging Physics at the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
Since 2008, Jacob Hoogenboom has been working on integrated microscopy, which centres around the combination of electron and light microscopy. Jacob’s research also explores techniques to make simpler and cheaper components for electron microscopes. His research has led to the launch of spin-off Delmic, which has brought innovations from Jacob's lab into practice.
Jacob is an executive board member of NEMI (Netherlands Electron Microscope Infrastructure) and has been a prominent advocate for increased cooperation in the Dutch electron microscopy field in recent years. He is also one of the driving forces behind the flagship CIFIC (Convergent Imaging Facility and Innovation Centre), a collaborative venture with Erasmus MC's Optical Imaging Centre and the Innovation Management group of the EUR, Rotterdam School of Management.
