Jafar Rezaei appointed as full professor in Decision Science
With great pleasure we announce that dr. Jafar Rezaei has been appointed as full professor in ‘Decision Science’, by the Executive Board of TU Delft as of October 2024.
Rezaei has been the head of the TLO section for many years. He is well-known for his Best-Worst Method (BWM) that is used all over the world, has an indisputable research reputation underscored by many publications in top-tier journals and numerous best paper and reviewer awards. He has offered courses at all academic levels. Over the course of his career, he has overseen the supervision of more than 160 master’s theses, and he has been and still is, the (co)promotor of 15 PhD candidates. He is the Editor in Chief of the MCDM’s society journal (JMCDA) and involved in the board of various reputable journals. Recently he has been appointed as director of the TPM graduate school.
His research employs quantitative methods and techniques to navigate complex decision processes inherent in complex, ill-defined problems. Jafar’s approach to decision-making is characterized by a keen insight into real-world situations, a deep understanding of multi-actor settings within engineering systems, and the acknowledgment of the diverse values at play, including moral considerations. He engages students to navigate the numerous challenges inherent in decision processes and provides them with the newest research insights.
