Systems Workforce Summit 2024 at TU Delft
As the need for systems engineers is rising, TU Delft and NXTGEN Hightech are organising a unique global event on systems engineering on October 8 and 9, 2024. Thoughtleaders from organisations such as Airbus, ASML, MIT and NASA will discuss the future needs of the Systems Engineering workforce tackling the major transformations in society. The Systems Workforce Summit, an initiative of Professor Emeritus Space Systems Engineering Heinz Stoewer, will take place at TU Delft. Registration is still open, so make sure to reserve your spot.
The need for Systems Engineers
Today's interdependent systems are being formed by major transformations, for example, in the energy, health, aerospace, transportation industries, and advancements in robotics, AI, and cyber-physical domains. Engineering talent is needed to integrate diverging requirements, develop robust designs and ensure project success. Well-educated system managers and engineers with broad overarching multi-disciplinary competencies are essential for tackling today's complex systems' technical, economic and societal challenges. This type of talent is scarce and in high demand by enterprises worldwide. Cooperation between the diverse organisations participating in this Summit could significantly advance the needed 'Workforce of the Future'.
Discover, connect and engage
The two-day program is packed with interesting speakers and networking possibilities. Engage with thought leaders from top organizations like Airbus, ASML, MIT and NASA, and gain valuable insights into the evolving landscape of Systems Engineering competencies and skills. Organisations and professionals have the unique opportunity to network with emerging talents, such as students, and discover the next generation of professionals. Students and talents have the unique opportunity to network with and orientate on industry, academia, and government agencies for their future careers. Delve into worldwide trends, opportunities, and challenges in SE to stay ahead in this dynamic field.
"This gathering will be the first of its kind worldwide”
Prof. Dipl. -ing. Heinz Stoewer is Emeritus Professor of Space Systems Engineering at TU Delft and former President of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). Stoewer contributed recently to the publication Systems Engineering Vision 2035 (INCOSE). He took the initiative to organise this Systems Workforce Summit. Stoewer: “This Summit in Delft will bring together leaders and experts from industry, academia, government agencies, and professional organisations. Together, we will formulate a “Call for Action” which should stimulate measures to grow the needed systems workforce for today’s global challenges in the energy, health, aerospace, or transportation fields. This gathering will be the first of its kind worldwide.”
