Fulbright grants for Tijn Croon and Alex Fernández

PhD candidates Tijn Croon and  Alex Fernández of the MBE department have been awarded Fulbright grants to spend half a year for their research at leading U.S. institutions. Both researchers are part of the Marie Curie project RE-DWELL, which concludes later this summer. 

Alex Fernández has secured funding through the EU-wide Fulbright Schuman grant to conduct research on the interlock between sustainable finance and housing affordability at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Tijn Croon, also supervised by Marja Elsinga together with Joris Hoekstra, has received funding from the Dutch Fulbright Commission to pursue his research at Columbia University in New York City. His work will focus on targeted social investments derived from carbon pricing scheme revenues. They will soon begin the fourth and final year of their doctoral studies. 

The Fulbright Program, established in 1946, aims to foster international goodwill through the exchange of students in education, culture, and science. It has become one of the most esteemed scholarship programmes worldwide, with over 400,000 participants from more than 160 countries participating in global learning and cultural exchanges.
