5 million for more diversity in science
Minister Van Engelshoven (OCW) announced in her letter 'Curious and involved - the value of science' to invest 5 million euro for more diversity in science.
Holland should remain a breeding ground and a haven for scientific talent. Van Engelshoven wants to increase diversity in science more quickly, because it is going too slow in her opinion. That is why she will invest 5 million euros annually to stimulate research careers for women in science and researchers with a migrant background. Also, the Minister will organize the European Gender Summit in the Netherlands on 3 and 4 October 2019. International policy makers, scientists and social organizations will participate. A national diversity action plan will be made from the outcomes and the knowledge that is shared during this summit.
