National Week Without Meat – Are you in?

TU Delft supports the National Week Without Meat (Nationale Week Zonder Vlees). From 6 to 12 March, all catering facilities on campus offer a vegetarian range. From the canteen, cafe to the food trucks. With this week TU Delft wants to promote a diet that is more plant-based. Are you in?

By participating in National Week Without Meat, you make a positive impact on people, animals, and the climate. You save on CO2-emissions and water. For instance, by eating no meat for a week, you can save 8 hours and 42 minutes of showering. By joining the National Week Without Meat, you will have a positive impact on climate change. 

EAT-Lancet

Within TU Delft, we are working towards a carbon neutral, climate adaptive and circular campus with a focus on biodiversity and quality of life. Food and Beverage has the third largest carbon equivalent share on our campus. That is a big part that we will have to work on.

To achieve our sustainability ambition, TU Delft has to work on a EAT-Lancet diet on campus. This means, that we are focusing on a healthy and varied local seasonal organic food and beverages. In doing so, we eat less animal products and more plant-based. This is called the EAT-Lanced diet where the emphasis is on fruit, vegetables, nuts, and pulses.

On campus you can find multiple places with good vegetarian and vegan options. They can be found here:

  • Architecture and the Built Environment (building 08)
  • The Fellowship (building 66)
  • Echo (building 29)
  • The Faculty Club (building 20)
  • Food trucks (outside, in front of building 22)
