Solar energy on campus

TU Delft is planning to install photovoltaics (PV) on a larger scale. In March 2021 an elaborate study was finished on the PV potential of the TU Delft campus [Zhou & Fremouw 2021].

PV can be applied on roofs and facades to enlarge the energy production and to ensure an even production throughout the day. PV can also be used in skylights, integrated into roof slates, covering parking garages and cycle paths. Furthermore, PV fields can be created on empty lots, floating on water bodies, and in acoustic screens along the Kruithuisweg motorway.
