Closer collaboration with University of Strathclyde
The existing research activities between the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and the departments of Urbanism and OTB will become closer. Strathclyde’s European Policies Research Centre (EPRC) will have a second base at the department of Urbanism.
Dean Douglas Brodie of Strathclyde and dean Peter Russell of BK City signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to identify areas for potential future collaborations on 2 February 2018. EPRC has a first-class reputation for research on EU policy matters, mainly related to regional policy and related policy areas such as industrial, enterprise and competition policy. EPRC was established for more than 40 years and is very well-known among European institutions such as the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Investment Bank.
EPRC’s research portfolio is complimentary to those in the departments of Urbanism and OTB. They share a number of common areas of interest such as territorial cooperation and governance. This is one of the reasons why Delft was chosen as the second base for EPRC.
In practice, the intensified collaboration between Delft University of Technology and the University of Strathclyde means that various EPRC staff will spend some of their working time in the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment. Some EPRC staff will be with us for short visits, others will be here for medium and long-term visits. They will be based in room BG.West.270. Please take the opportunity to explore possible areas of collaboration on research and teaching with them!
