BazyarLab

The Bazyar Research Group is dedicated to tackling critical challenges in environmental sustainability through innovative research in CO2 capture, green hydrogen production, microfluidics, and wastewater treatment. We focus on developing advanced materials and technologies, such as novel redox-active carrier electrodes for electrochemical carbon capture, smart gating membranes for precise gas transport, and enhanced anion exchange membranes for efficient water electrolysis. Our work in microfluidics includes a unique separation-sensing platform and a portable “forensics-on-a-chip” device for on-scene analysis. Additionally, we are pioneering smart meta membranes with self-cleaning capabilities to combat biofouling in wastewater treatment. By integrating materials science, electrochemistry, and fluid dynamics, our research bridges the gap between scientific discovery and real-world applications, driving innovation for a more sustainable future.
