House rules TU Delft Library
TU Delft Library wants to offer its visitors optimal facilities to study and consult information sources. In addition, the library also functions as a meeting place. In order to combine these two functions, we have drawn up house rules. If you come to the TU Library, the following house rules apply: Treat the study places and all facilities with respect. Show respect to your fellow visitors You are permitted to eat and drink in the Central Hall, the Kegel (the Cone), the Blue Room and the projectrooms of TU Delft Library. You are also permitted -outside the examination periods - to talk and make telephone calls on a normal sound level. The Glass Hall (the large computer room), the Orange Room, the Trésor reading room and the Red Room are for silent study only. Talking, making phone calls, eating and drinking (with the exception of water) are not permitted. Rules for use of computers and digital resources There are rules and regulations regarding the use of compputers at the TU Delft Library. Make sure to read the education regulations of the TU Delft (Student Charter Annex 10) and the digital resources . Group visits It is possible to visit the Library in groups. However, these must always take place outside exam periods. Liability TU Delft Library is not liable for any damages and/or theft of any personal belongings of visitors of the TU Delft Library. Visitors can be asked at any time by a security officer to show a campus card and/or proof of identity for verification. Animals Only service dogs are permitted in the Library. Abuse and theft Did you cause any damages during your visit to the Library? We reserve the right to hold you accountable for any damages. So please, treat our facilities with respect. In the case of extreme abuse of our facilities, we can and will deny you access to our facilities, services and/or building. In the case of extreme abuse, theft, disorderly conduct or general misbehavior, we have the right to deny you access to our facilities, services and/or building for a specified period of time. Also read the TU Delft Regulations for the Use of Buildings , Premises and Facilities by Students and Visitors . Smoking Since 1 August 2020, almost the entire TU Delft campus is smoke-free. This means smoking is not allowed (inside and outside of buildings) on campus. Read more about this in the additional information about smoking policy . Filming and photography rules Photographing and/or filming in our building is permitted. However, there are a number of rules applicable. Flyers & Posters Flyers can be given to the front desk. They will then be placed in the flyer board in the Living Room (room with the vending machines). Flyers are not allowed to be distributed elsewhere in the Library without prior permission. Posters can be given to the front desk. They will be displayed on the bulletin board in the Living Room. Max. 1 poster A3 format, will be displayed for 3 weeks. Permission granted by events-library to conduct promotional campaigns are only permitted at the front stairs of the Library. Freezone B is never included. At the main entrance of the Library it’s not allowed to conduct actions involving food. Lost and found Have you lost an item? Or found something that did not belong to you? Items are kept at our service desk. However, TU Delft Library is not liable for any lost items or damages on the found items. Relaxation and contemplation At Sports & Culture Center X at TU Delft there is a central Contemplation Room where you can come to yourself. You can go there for reflection, meditation, prayer or just for a moment of silence, away from the daily worries. All employees, students and invited guests are welcome, but the room is intented for individual use only. An X subscription isn't neccesary for this, but the TU Delft X houserules are applicable. Sporting activities on the roof Using the roof for activities such as skiing, sledging and cycling activities are not permitted on the roof, due to the risk of personal injuries and the possibility of damaging the roof.
