TU Delft professors Jan Dirk Jansen, Lucas van Vliet and Miro Zeman all received Royal Honours this year.

TU Delft professors Jenny Dankelman and Ronald Hanson are set to become members of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). The KNAW chooses its members on the basis of their academic achievements. It currently has around 550 members. On Monday, 16 September 2019, nineteen new Academy members will be installed, including Dankelman and Hanson.

On Tuesday 16 April the PhD council organised a brand new event: the PhD Career Day Applied Sciences. With more than 120 participants (20% of the PhD population of the Faculty of Applied Sciences), most of which are in their final year, it met the question of a lot of PhD candidates.

Thanks to alumni of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (AS) and supporters of Delft University Fund, Dr.ir. Stan Brouns today, Tuesday 16 April, has opened the first phage bank in the Netherlands.

The PDEng programme 'Designer in Bioprocess Engineering', an important training programme for bioprocess designers, has existed for a quarter of a century. The programme celebrated this memorable anniversary with a festive day at the Science Centre Delft and the Botanical Garden on 16 March.

An international review committee, chaired by professor Robbert Dijkgraaf, is ‘unreservedly positive about the success of QuTech in the past, and fully endorses the institute in the years to follow’.
